Located in Bal Harbour, the St. Regis Residence has sweeping views that encompass the surrounding urban and natural landscape. The floating islands of Biscayne Bay punctuate this vista in the foreground, while the skyline of downtown Miami sits on the southern horizon. The apartment’s primary feature, a custom accordion wall, both captures and abstracts this view, creating a blurred boundary between interior and exterior space. Upon entering the residence, one reads the wall’s subtle gray Venetian plaster texture. Alternatively viewed from the living room, vertical panels of ribbed glass inserted into this same wall reflect and amplify light and space, framing views of the bay and sky. Folding into the adjacent hallway, the wall’s sawtooth pattern continues to a powder room, where a series of vertical lights and a mirrored wall combine to create a repeating visual effect that is dynamic and unexpected.
