Casa Palopo resort and hotel is located in Guatemala, on a precipice above one of the most beautiful lakes in the world, Lake Atitlan. It is surrounded by three active volcanoes that, together with the majestic lake, stimulated the concept behind the design of the hotel. The scintillating structure, with its cascading, terraced pools, embraces the natural landscape as it delicately hovers over the mountainside.
The primary means of arrival to the hotel is by helicopter. The unique drama of the arrival experience is amplified when hotel guests land on the helipad, which is located on the roof of a cantilevered structure that is surrounded by a shallow reflecting pool. This creates the illusion of landing on water and the circular motion of the propeller creates a misty spray that blankets the area surrounding the helipad. This spray signals the arrival of a new guest at this exclusive hotel. The hotel guests exit the helicopter and are then greeted with the breathtaking view prior to descending into the open-air lobby.
The hotel encompasses a number of different spaces including the arrival lobby which is a multipurpose space that can be used for events, a spa with a gym and massage rooms, and seven new villas that are designed to enhance the presence of the existing villas.
