The owners purchased 3 lots on a prominent Ft. Lauderdale peninsula, previously known as the Galt estate, or the “white house” which has been long considered one of the most iconic “trophy” properties in all of Florida. RGA was requested to completely re-invent this property with such a long prominence as a traditional landmark in the history of the city in a completely new fresh modern way.
The main house created primarily with Concrete, Zinc and Glass is revealed as a series of wrap around terracing spaces that create dynamic interior rooms that seamlessly flow into one another while surrounded by lush gardens and many pools. One pool cascades down from the master bedroom terrace creating both an oasis of privacy and also a soothing waterfall feature for the lower level. The property features a 180-degree view of the intracoastal, and all the interior sight lines are designed to highlight the unparalleled vistas from within almost any area of the home.
A second house on the property features a breezeway entrance that leads either directly to the canal it faces or into the home’s lower-level private garden and pool area and stairs leading up to the second level. This upper level also features canal and intracoastal views as well as another set of useful outdoor terraces and roof gardens. These clients are avid entertainers, and this project will provide them with a truly incredible opportunity to share the utter re-imagination and many pleasures of this historic estate with their guests, friends and family for more generations to come.
